About Wayne
Wayne Pardue, hall of fame quarterback. Is he here? No, he's here. This kid Pardue's a tiger. No, a cheetah. He's Wayne Pardue, coming soon to a theatre near you. That's what he says anyway. How about: Wayne Pardue, coward with a hyperactive imagination and a minor irritation to all those who know him. He's like Little Pete's very own Teddy Foresman (or in other words, an annoying friend). But all his many faults combine to make him one of the funniest characters in Pete and Pete and have earned him the affectionate nickname Wayne "the pain".
Pete and his friends spend most of the third series trying to keep Wayne off their backs. He was originally left out of the trip for the lucky penny, the grand master of April Fool's pranks (which even Pitstain was in on) and the campaign to keep Christmas going all year round. A quote used in "O' Christmas Pete" could quite easily have been his motto for the whole show: "They tried to ditch me, but I caught up". Like Teddy he is distinguishable for his catchphrases, "Jeez Louise" and "Super genius" being his two favourites. He has frequent problems with his corpuscles (so he says) which conveniently get him out of up with personal hygiene assemblies and failed Lucky Penny excursions and he has a very volatile substitute gland. His ambition is to become a Hall Monitor and to keep his Knightwalkers clean for the rest of his life.
Sadly, Wayne only appeared in the third series, but did feature quite heavily. Without Artie, Little Pete's friends were brought into the show a lot more as sort of a replacement and it's likely that's how Wayne came about. He made Artie's absence easier to take in with his immense contribution.
"Is this guy super genius, or what?"
