The people behind Hard Day's Pete
Pete has his own radio station called Wart radio. The signal doesn't carry too far, but his Krebstar 2000 walkie talkie does its best to broadcast Wart Radio to the whole of Wellsville. This station has everything a good one should have, everything except music. You see, as Big Pete tells us, music just wasn't important to Pete. He had his favourite smell, star and internal organ, but didn't have a favourite song. However one morning Pete is faced with the odds of his passing maths class reducing to 450 to one if he's late. He has to ride 1.3 miles travelling at 15.4 miles an hour. Impossible? Not with a short cut. And this is where it happened, where Pete first heard his favourite song, whilst riding past Mrs. Chicutti's garage. From that moment on, he was hooked. However when he returns to see the band, all that was left was "one shiny piece of plastic. It wasn't much but it gave him hope enough to keep searching." Armed with the band's plectrum, Pete began searching "Hits of the Globe", scouring the airwaves by boosting the radio signal with his Mom's metal plate and he even had Artie searching for it, but it was no good - the song was leaving him fast.
The only other option was to try to play the song himself. Pete discovered that the feedback from his Krebstar 3000 Eviscerator guitar could turn his outy belly button into an inny, and that the mighty E chord could blow the lint out of an inny like a cannon. He even manages to conjure up the deadly sound of the whammy bar which renders Artie's powers useless, but he had difficulty finding his tune. He could only discover the one secret rift. Enlisting the help of his friend Clem "mutton chops" Lanell on drums, meter man "lightning" Mel Ratner on lead guitar, maths teacher Elmer "Couter" Fingerwood as bassist, Pete "Thunderbolt" Wrigley formed The Blowholes. However hard they tried though, they just couldn't find Pete's favourite song and the whole time they were searching, they were draining electricity and straining the bill. The rest of the band were also tired of just playing one song. But Big Pete started the idea of playing requests for donations - this would pay the bill and keep the band alive. They even managed to play hemmoroid sufferer Fred Hurley's "Surfing Bum, Surfing Fun" (with Artie's help) to make enough money to pay Dad back for all the electricity they had used. This wasn't getting Pete any nearer the song he'd been searchig for, so, sick of playing everyone elses tune, he went off to Mrs Chicutti's garage again on his own.
Pete felt that the song was gone forever, that it had disappeared as suddenly as it had come to him. He was about to give up hope when the rest of the Blowholes joined him there and with one final, mighty push, they started jamming and all of a sudden Pete had his favourite song back, for good.

- The Wart radio jingle ("W-A-R-T, Wart, radio...") is done by none other than Miss Fingerwood.
- This is the second time the actor playing Fred Hurley appears in Pete and Pete - he's also the hunter from Rangeboy.
- Little Pete is left handed, but plays the guitar in a right handed fashion.
- At the end, when the Blowholes are playing Pete's favourite song, despite the fact that numerous drums can be heard, Clem is only playing one.
- Artie arrives with the rest of the band at Mrs Chicutti's but mysteriously disappears while the band play into the closing credits.
- Pete's guitar is a fender with a Krebstar sticker stuck on it.
- When Pete is scouring "Hits of the Globe" for his favourite song, the list has references to Pete and Pete cast members. These include:

Miracle Legion: This is the band jamming in the garage. Take away Mr Ray, the guitarist in the hat, and you have Polaris the band that does a lot of the music for Pete and Pete, including the title song "Hey Sandy".
Marshall Crenshaw: He plays meter man "Lightning" Mel Ratner. He is also the bassist for Pete's band, the Blowholes. In real life Marshall is a guitarist who used to impersonate the Beatles.
Syd Straw: Syd is a singer who appears as Miss Fingerwood in this episode and many others.
